Getting started
Is DailySelfie free?
Yes. No fees, no in-app purchases, no token cut, no premium tier. What you see is what you get.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You create a gallery with your Chaturbate username and you get a Gallery
Key. That key is your login: dailyselfie.me/edit/YOURKEY is your
panel. That's it. That is all you need. We don't do registrations, accounts or
passwords.
Puzzling? Yes, to the GenZ mind, but this was by default at the dawn of the brave new internet. A time before corporations took over, rubbed their palms, and started asking for your phone, home address, name of your dog and a retina scan so you can shop safely at quiznos.com.
A 32-character random key is the safest thing, but they don't get to pad your consumer profile that way.
What if I lose my Gallery Key?
If you added a recovery e-mail, use “I lost my key” on dailyselfie.me and we'll send it. If you didn't, well, there's no way to sugarcoat this, sweet cheeks: you screwed up. That Gallery Key was the only proof that the gallery was yours, so if you lost it, that's that. So heed the advice and save it in your password manager, your notes app, scribble a post-it and slap it on your fridge, or, maybe, perhaps, consider adding a recovery e-mail in your panel.
In what order should I set things up?
Work with two tabs or two browser windows side by side. On one side: create the gallery, upload a batch of pictures and set them in the calendar, then copy the key. Move over to the other window, load Chaturbate, start the DailySelfie app and paste it into the app settings on the “Gallery Key” field. Update the app then look at your chat: the app will post an activation link immediately. Copy that link and paste it in the URL bar of your browser. Just like ping-pong.
What is the activation link?
A private notice only you can see, with your own link to today's selfie.
Loading it does two things: it confirms the app and your gallery are connected,
and it takes your public page (dailyselfie.me/yourname) live.
Until then your gallery is invisible to everyone. If you missed it, type
/ds activate and the app will post the link again.
Nothing seems to be happening. Where do I look?
You probably failed to input the Gallery Key into the app settings. Type
/ds status in your chat. It tells you whether your key is set. If
it's set then try the activation link again by typing
/ds activate.
Photos and the calendar
What kind of photos can I upload?
Anything that follows Chaturbate's terms. Phone pictures are perfect; but so are photo galleries you might already have. JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 20 MB each. Be creative, the sky is the limit. Er... well, actually, Visa and Mastercard's restrictions on adult content is the limit, but you get the gist.
How does the calendar work?
You place a photo on each day. Then, when you stream, the photo on that day's date is the one viewers get. Each stream is self contained, meaning: only one picture per session, everyone gets the same picture, regardless of how long you stream. Even if you are streaming for 15 hours straight. The date follows Chaturbate's clock (midnight in Los Angeles).
What if I don't stream on a day?
We cook like an Italian grandma: nothing is wasted. That day's photo goes back to your wallet, ready to be placed on another day.
What if I stream on a day with no photo assigned?
The app will still hand out links, and viewers will see “today's photo isn't ready yet”. If it happens, assign a photo to that day from your panel and the links people already have will start working immediately.
My upload stopped halfway.
Upload in batches of 20 pictures or fewer. Very large batches get cut off by the server.
What is the wallet limit?
60 pictures.
Can a viewer get more than one photo a day?
No. One selfie per viewer per day, whichever way they earn it. A second broadcast on the same day only rewards people who didn't get it in the first.
Modes
What are the modes?
You can let people have the picture for free if they stay long enough, but there are three more ways you can send these selfies: (1) to fan club members as soon as they enter your room, (2) to members who tip a fixed amount, and (3) manually to people so you can play favorites and break hearts.
Which modes are on by default?
Time is on. Fan club and Tip are off until you switch them on in the
settings. Manual (/ds give) is always available.
How is time counted?
Per broadcast, for registered viewers present in your room, one minute at a time. If someone leaves and comes back later during the same broadcast, their minutes are kept. Time isn't carried over to the next broadcast. Anonymous (not logged in) viewers can't be tracked and can't receive the selfies unless they register; grey registered viewers can, and you can choose to exclude them if you want.
Does time count during privates or ticket shows?
By default, no: only while your room is public. There's a setting to change that.
Tip mode: does any tip over the amount count?
No, only a single tip for the exact amount you set, like a tip menu item. That way you keep control of what you're selling. Pick an amount you're not already using in your tip menu, or another app may react to it too.
A viewer tipped the amount twice.
The second time they get a private “you already have today's selfie” note. If they keep tipping after that, well, not the sharpest knife.
Fan club mode: what about members who were already in the room when I started?
They get it within the first minute. Members who enter later get it on entry.
What viewers see
What does a viewer receive?
A private notice only they can see, with a link like
dailyselfie.me/yourname/theirname/xxxxxxxx. Links can't be clicked
in Chaturbate chat; they have to copy and paste it into their browser. The page
shows the photo and a link back to your room.
Is the picture shareable?
A link is tied to the viewer who earned it and stops working at the end of the following day. The picture itself is unclickable, and undraggable to discourage viewers downloading them. They do receive the picture via email if they want which makes it harder to share. The picture has a watermark, so if some loser leaks it somewhere else, it points back to your gallery and your room, bringing you more traffic.
When I run the app in my chatroom some messages have a pink background and others are violet, why?
Pink messages are public, everyone sees them. Violet text is private: only the person it's addressed to can see it.
Can I change the banner text?
Yes, in the settings. Leave it empty and it adapts automatically to the modes you have on.
Privacy and safety
I changed my key. Do old links still work?
All links to your selfies expire after 48 hours; new links use the new key.
Can I delete everything?
Yes, from your panel. Since you don't have an account, simply leaving the gallery empty is like you were never here. An empty gallery that was never activated is deleted on its own after 30 days. A gallery with pictures in it that wasn't activated disappears in 90 days to give the model some wiggle room in case she wants to use it. Empty galleries that have been sitting empty for a long time get purged.
How can I report abuse?
Send an e-mail to hello@toolkitty.me explaining the situation, and we will do our best to fix it.
